COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABILITY

At Simex, Soinco and Plastinovo; we are advancing in the process of searching and developing alternatives that allow sustainable solutions for our processes. This is why we signed an agreement with Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM) for the purchase of Renewable Energy, an alternative aimed at all companies that have a high consumption of electricity.

Joining this initiative since 2019, the manufacturing plants of our Group work with “Green Energy”. That is, we are consumers of renewable energies, generated through water and wind, in plants with a construction less than 14 years old in the country.

Since then, EPM has issued semiannual certificates through the international standard I-REC, which certifies that the energy we consume is renewable, attesting to our commitment to sustainability and competitiveness.

For this reason, our CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) emission factor, associated with our electricity consumption is zero (0), following the directives by “Convention in the United Nations Framework on Climate Change, in the agreement of Paris COP21, where Colombia committed to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by 20% by 2030 ”.

Our Business Group is aware of the current environmental challenges, therefore, we embark on a path towards sustainable development, taking firm steps, with correct decisions that allow us to improve our environmental performance.
